The question is, who is this me? and who is this you?
If we practice reciprocity there is nothing to settle.
If I practice reciprocity but you demand some of my property (which may well be all of my property) in order to give me the loaf, then you're not practicing reciprocity but extortion. As I do practice reciprocity I'll do the same to you and I'll begin to extort you every time you have a need that I could satisfy. See the problem here?

Some families in some regions of certain countries practice reciprocity in the form of voluntary cooperation. One for all and all for one. No money exchange among them, all the money everyone makes goes -blindly- to a black box. The patriarch or matriarch pays all bills with that money. Investment goes to the family enterprise.

Extrapolate to an entire town. "We're all a big family" - same practice, doable today, practiced in some islands.
Extrapolate to an entire planet - one day Earth will be like this.
