I've been thinking about Typhoid Mary.

She is literally THE reason we figured out being an asymptomatic carrier is a thing. It was a major scientific breakthrough.

And then she went right back to what she'd been doing before, infecting more people. More people died.

They locked her up for it.

And once she got out, she went RIGHT BACK to what she'd been doing before (namely, preparing and serving food with infectious fecal matter on her hands), and more people died.

So they locked her up AGAIN.

All because she couldn't even be bothered to wash her fucking hands after using the bathroom.
