Unpopular opinion: random anonymous ecash mints are never going to replace large trusted banks; and large trusted banks will always be pressured to KYC
Non-profit small community federated mints may exist, but I doubt the big regulated banks will allow them to legally avoid being regulated
In related news, my ecash balances keep getting rugged or otherwise fucked up. I can’t imagine trusting $10 to a fly by night mint, let alone real money.
