DNS solves this imo. I am using bunny.net and can distribute load to n machines, effectively distributing "read"s. Reads (queries) are a lot more frequent. They can stream from each other too, so write's are ready as well.
Nginx could also do this. Right now nginx can do failover for example if one strfry instance is gone but the machine is up, bunny.net cannot detect that but nginx can detect and move traffic to another strfry instance..
