It’s the hostility that worries me. Dog adores meeting passing walkers (as long as they don’t have dogs), and he always looks bewildered if they don’t stop to give him a pat.

But, equally, if they do have dogs then I shout to warn them and keep him well away.

I had one last week who’d been talking to a neighbour when I came past. She’d warned him, but when I passed him again a bit later he dutifully put his dog on the lead and was very much “is he really that ba— oh, ok, she wasn’t exaggerating!”
