The Canada geese around here will typically back off once you've moved away enough. The only times I've been hissed at was during gosling season and there was only one time when the goose was aggressively pushing me out of the area but the interactions was really brief. The locals are very acclimated to people. I've had more issues with them flying right at me. A couple of times it's felt a bit intentional😬
