Fast food shenanigansI don't know about other countries but about a year ago a lot of fast food restaurants had introduced a "takeaway fee" the equivalent of ~0.30€ here in Hungary, citing "increased additional costs" for takeaway purchases. So I thought, *well, if you really want to charge for that paper bag, that's fine.* I usually just order a single burger without the bag that I'd eat right away on my way.
But nowadays there's a kiosk for ordering and you can't exactly tell the machine that you don't want a tray *or* a bag. So I order in person and say it's takeaway but without the bag so don't add it to the order. The guy then says it's not the bag itself that the fee is for so if I ordered takeaway I'd still have to pay the fee.
But for what exactly I'm not sure, since I don't use up either a tray or a bag. I sigh, ask for my burger and say I'll "dine in" but don't need a tray, then pay, get my sandwich and walk out.
