It was mostly described as the fee for early exit from a year subscription. I had to sign up up for just Photoshop at one point to get out of the Creative Suite subscription. It was all murky as Adobe uses tons of dark patterns to keep people locked into the subscription (SSaaS).

I sat down in late 2022 and figured out what I was using Creative Suite for and what I could use to do those things. I found that I could use alternatives for everything.
