#WritersCoffeeClub 7/28—Epilogue> Does your WIP have an Epilogue? How do you feel about Epilogues?
The purpose of an epilogue is to give the reader a sense of closure—that all loose ends have been secured, that there's nothing left to tell—that was absent from the ending of the story itself for some reason.
If you read one of my books and stumble into an epilogue, it's a public confession that I failed. (So I do my very best to avoid needing them.)
