I hate how "remasters" nowadays don't seem to care about the art style and overall look-n-feel of the original games.
In Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition, introducing a "more realistic lightning" for the sake of it results in Jade being completely whitewashed. They also introduced "high-resolution textures" in a game that was purposefully aiming for a style somewhere between Heart of Darkness and a Ghibli feature.
Now I'm quite sure they didn't actually *intend* to whitewash the character. But in the end they did, by carelessly tweaking settings to make it look "new", just for the sake of it.
And to be fair, Ubisoft isn't the only culprit. This sheer disrespect for original art styles of many popular games can be seen everywhere in the industry.
