Living at university now and can confirm that anyone who pays the slightest attention to the news or the economy has given up hope entirely. The ones who haven't simply don't know what's going on. Just this past week I had a discussion with a few students and we all came to the conclusion that none of us are going to make it unless the housing market completely crashes right when we get out.

There's a glumness to Zoomers, even the happy, successful ones, the ones who at least have a chance of "making it" if you will. We all know this country is dying, we make jokes about it, we darkly chuckle when someone brings up the fall of Rome or nod along with an exasperated understanding when someone makes a comparison to Weimar Germany. In the ones that can bear it it just creates a sense or purpose, of a desire to survive the coming storm, for most though it just spawns the darkest, most all consuming nihilism you could possibly imagine. And you can tell these people out of a crowd, the ones that still take care of themselves and the ones who have completely given up.
