What gives me hope for nostr is the same reason that gives me hope for mixnets:
Hardware performance has gotten to a point that we can be ridiculously inefficient at solving simple tasks without it being perceptible. This makes fundamentally less efficient protocols viable.
But it also means that app developers will have to work twice as hard to make the UX slick, you can only spend your performance budget once after all. I'm excited to see where this goes!
