Sig Sauer P365XL is an excellent carry pistol. Shoots great, has good ergonomics, tons of aftermarket support.

A more budget friendly option would be a CZ P-10 C. One of the best out of the box triggers and an overall great pistol.

For a holster, if you’re going with a traditional kydex option, I recommend Tenicor. If you’re looking for a more versatile option, PHLSter Enigma + PHLSter Floodlight. This allows you to carry without a belt which is incredibly useful in warm weather since you can now carry with gym shorts or other non-belted pants.

You’ll also need to budget for:

1. Ammo - FMJ (use this for training/practice at the range) is going to run you around $.23-.$26/round if you’re finding good deals. JHP (use when you’re carrying) will be around $.50-$.75/round). Recommend 1,000 FMJ and 50-100 JHP.

2. Optic - red or green dot optics allow for quicker target acquisition and follow up shots. Highly recommended. Holosun 507/407 or 507k/407k (for subcompact and smaller pistols) or holosun EPS/EPS Carry (closed emitter, more expensive). Expect to pay around $250-$450 depending on your choice.

3. Weapon mounted light (WML) - for identifying targets in low/no light. Stream light makes a lot of great options that don’t cost a ton. Surefire, Cloud Defensive, and Modlight make higher end options but they’re about 2x-3x more vs Streamlight.

4. Magazines - you may not want need more at first, but consider additional sizes or just having extras so they’re readily accessible.

5. Cleaning kit
