Today in 1291, the Crusader City of Acre falls to Mamluk Sultanate. This was the last foothold the Crusaders have on the mainland of the Holy Land.
In 1302, the tiny island fortress city of Ruad, off the coast of modern Syria 🇸🇾 falls to the Mamluk Sultanate, this would be the last time Europeans hold any territory in the Holy land until World War 1.
