Ataraxia is best described as a mental state of equanimity, readiness and immovability. This mindset is often displayed and naturally developed by #Bitcoin  maximalists - where an onslaught of attacks on protocol and discourse level is getting faced with calm and serenity. 


In greek philosophy Ataraxia was first used by Pyrrho and adopted in multiple schools of thought - most notably in Stoicism, which has virtue, logic and natural  behaviour at its core. Those aspects also greatly correspond to the core values of #Bitcoin


Having a detailed understanding of a topic with a borderline obsessive focus on details develops a free and composed mind. Any external factors and events start to diminish in importance and severity, which is quite clearly visible in online-debate-places like twitter.


People tweeting NGMI to billionaires on a 70% downturn are either crazy or imperturbable. 'Ataraxia as an ideal mental state for soldiers entering battle' is a great way of describing how bitcoiners deal with FUD, malicious misinformation and unwarranted confidence/ignorance

It shows the depth and dimensions of an incredible invention. No matter the angle there is always a point of contact for any individual or group.
