I was about to leave a scathing review of the build quality of my expensive new phone because within a week the screen had multiple deep scratches and seemed to accumulate new ones as easily as if it were soft plastic, which was particularly disappointing because I only upgraded because I was unhappy with how easily the previous phone's screen scratched.

And now I've just discovered, as I was getting set up to attempt to apply Turtle Wax in a last ditch effort to smooth the scratches out, that there was in fact a thin film of soft plastic protecting the screen that I hadn't peeled off while unboxing because I hadn't even noticed it was there.

At least I'm happy with my new phone again now, if not so much my brain.
