Agreed.
In hindsight, it took a lot for me personally to stop appealing to authority and start applying critical thinking to more than just my job and academics. I hope the rest of the people who are still “asleep” are able to get the jolt they need to start rejecting authority wherever it is immoral.
As jeffbooth (npub1zf2…37dr) has said, misinformation must propagate, so at some point, the masses must be faced with outrageous contradiction. To your point, I think people will start to think critically when that contradiction impacts their socioeconomic reality.
