Zettour (npub1yqq…ufnw) the report actually didnt recommend rust because its not tested in space systems yet. In addition rust is only good at checking for out of boundsbpointers which there's some research into doing live pointer checking in memory and arm has a memory tagging system that they're testing and is gaining adoption.
Honestly the takeaway I got from this is test rust on embedded systems and tried and true security people bitching at devs for writing code that doesn't defend against unintended use cases.
