I hear that; it is, as they say, all so tiresome.
Hey I think we touched briefly in earlier conversation on Baron Carl von Reichenbach, but it was mostly addressed to Jeff Cliff.
IIRC, he was the guy whose first big break was patenting the industrial process for creosote-treating railroad ties, which drastically increased their working life expectancy and revolutionized the whole ability for large-scale rail to turn a large profit.
Of course he went on to conduct an enormous sleepwalker study, wherein he developed his entire theory on “Odic Force”, directly perceivable by certain “Sensitives” who happened also to be most profoundly affected by sometimes fatal cases of sleepwalking - thereby dispelling centuries of stigma attached.
Is Reichenbach a household name in Germany, to this day ? My sources are conflicted on this question, and I can’t quite suss out German-language literature well enough to form a clear picture.
