Existing platforms are, in my opinion, dangerous to mental health., especially for young people. Here I can have a convo with someone and feel seen and heard. On traditional social I am beholden to their programmed (algorithm) ideas of what I should or should not be and like. None of my traditional feeds give me what I would like to see. They just send me content - usually that I don’t want to see - and that content only makes me feel bad for not being that thing. Prettier, more successful, more popular, more seen, more heard. Breaking through seems impossible and it only serves to set an impossible standard 💔 BTW: Record labels will not even take a new meeting with you if you do not have 100,000 followers on a single platform. And if you pay to advertise (boost) your music, in order to break through the algorithm, than you are labeled scammer or sell out. It’s all a complete and total mess.
