Urbit gives me more hope than nostr for future computing freedom. As I recall, Nostr was born from a dev frustrated with activitypub looking for a simpler way to send http messages around. Urbit was born to rebuild computing from scratch. So while I suppose they share a desire to rethink and begin again, Urbit is far far more encompassing in that view and has attracted very serious thinkers to work out much more challenging problems than nostr's scope includes. How do they interplay? I don't think very much right now but I'm certain Nostr devs could build Nostr client/server hybrid on urbit. That's one of its neat properties: every urbit is client and server. Perhaps someone has and I've missed it.
