Dammit. I'd hoped to get the Apple Watch series 9 for my dad. Who's 86y/o, and I'd really wanted to have that blood-ox sensor in an otherwise fun gadget. Understandably, he refuses to wear "medical" devices for "old people." Seriously, fuck US patent laws. Not a fan of Apple's tech-as-luxury approach, but anything fun to help my pops extend his health, I will pony up for. Such bullshit we relegate health to luxury spending.
