Bonds and the trend to lower interest rates has been going on for decades.
USA started cutting rates in the early 80’s.
Never in recorded history have rates been less than zero.
In bitcoin language - negative debt implies negative time preference. ( run that one past Safedean)
In the real world that cannot happen.
Everything based on our economy is based on time value.
It is not capitalism anymore- you can’t have capitalism without positive interest rates.
We are living in the twilight zone of banking.
Since we eradicated hard money in 1971 we have gone further out into the future and pulled all of that earnings back to today.
Through the debt load.
There aren’t enough assets for the liabilities.
