The idea that they're going to get Gavin Newsom is very interesting.
Remember, one of the issues that Trump ran into when searching for a VP (this time around) was that he couldn't pick Marco Rubio or DeSantis; because Prez & VPs can't be from the same state.
The DNC can't pick Newsom because Kamala is *also* from California. If you also remember, Kamala got a lot of heat because she dropped out of the 2020 Dem primaries before her home state, which was California. So unless they're getting rid of Kamala too, he can't run.
