Perhaps the American usage differs, but I always understood Wog to be shorthand for golliwog, which historically referred to South Asians, Indo-Mongoloids, Pacific Islanders, and other dark-skinned aboriginals that didn’t fall cleanly into the category of nigger, sandnigger, or pajeet. I fail to see how any of that belongs in Europe.
