Daily update, being doing transport for protesters so I didn’t really have time to look too much at what the media is saying.

Police are being brutal, but tbh it’s nothing out of the ordinary, riot police have always been brutal and it’s expected as long as they don’t beat up ladies, old people or children.

Macron will talk to the French people tomorrow, which always tends to make things worse because he has negative charisma.

Pressure was applied to unions in the classical play of “you are allying with extremists, any violence is your responsibility” but the union chiefs actually read the room correctly and answered “The extremists wouldn’t have any popular support if you actually, you know, negotiated with us, so fuck you”.

So now, there is no way there is a negotiated solution that doesn’t both totally throw the law out and force Macron back to the drawing board and at least a year lost and forces him to fire the current government as a gesture.

Edit: Oh yeah, the unions are calling for a general strike, that’s always funny.
