The Longstone, on the edge of Shovel Down, by Chagford Common, Dartmoor. Part of the large Shovel Down group of prehistoric monuments, it stands at the southern end of an avenue of stone rows. It was later used as a boundary stone, with letters carved into it to mark the boundaries of the parishes of Chagford and Gidleigh, and the Duchy of Cornwall lands.
