Pretty much. This place isn't exactly a "bastion of privacy" even though somehow it's gotten that rep.

It IS good for being able to move your account to a place where you do feel a sense of privacy. BUT, there's 20,000+ instances, there's no surefire way to know exactly who has your data and what they're doing with it.

The only surefire way to keep your data private, is to make all your posts private, create an instance that doesn't federate at all, or don't use social media.🤷‍♂️
