The whole point of the yin/yang principle is that any given duality can always be seen as part of a larger unity, and any given unity can always be seen as part of a larger duality. This is represented in the tai ji symbol - which most anglophones call "the yin/yang" - in the way both the dark and light sections are part of the whole, and contain seeds of each other.
