Rigor Mortis is an excellent Chinese horror film, and in fact, a tribute to the Hong Kong vampire comedies of the 80s. Moreover, half of the cast, including the lead actor, starred in the original Mr. Vampire, and this connection even ties into the twist at the end of the film.
It is not at all what it seems at first or even second glance.
