We have 10 aggregator vm's running all the time that are doing this process over and over, sharing the requests amongst each other.

9 of them take their own slice of the feed database and one is dedicated to just polling feeds that send a podping notification. Once we see that a feed uses podping a flag is set that tells the poller loader to never auto-poll that feed again.
