Damien routinely explains this away on The Working Group by pointing out - quite rightly - that Actually Existing Neoliberalism falls well short of his platonic ideal.
We still live in the same old welfare state compared to that. A state stripped of everything but the cops, the courts and the military. Everything else? "Leave it to The Market" (ie anything that doesn't break laws... well... those that are actively enforced anyway).
