"Wanted to take a moment to share something....
Many folks have signed up for government programs thinking these are free programs. The government does NOT have free programs. One example are the PPP Loans that were offered to farmers and other small businesses.
If you Google it...it will tell you that it forgivable...you do not have to pay it back. Which may be true....depending on what YOU signed. Not all are forgivable. My husband explained this to a local farmer a couple years ago after he shared with us that he had received the PPP loan. He thought it was great. After my husband explained it's all in the fine print and asked him to please review the paperwork he signed.
The farmer realized that he had in fact been misled and that the government would be expecting a pay back.
So he set the remaining funds aside and started putting back a little at a time in an account to be prepared should they call his loan.
He received a letter stating that his loan was due in full and IMMEDIATELY. If he did not pay he would forfeit personal property etc....meaning they would take his land.
Thankfully he listened to my husband and was prepared. How many farmers do you think were tricked into forfeiting their land for this FREE money.
Please share this info if you know a small business or farmer that may have been desperate during covid and signed up for the scam....their business and their land is at risk.
