According to John 1, Jesus is the Word of God. The Bible never claims to be the Word of God and it would make more sense to interpret Hebrews 4:12 as referring to Jesus, as the Bible is neither living nor active, and it lacks the ability to judge the thoughts and attitudes of the heart, in contrast to Jesus
who embodies all of these qualities.
