Small but consistent received zaps will encourage daily interaction and in turn hone the skills of the creator to create more desirable content increasing content quality, total engagement and in-turn zaps.
I would rather have 10,000 penny zaps from as many people that like what is going on in the community than a single $100 zap. The former is much more valuable and sustainable not to mention will help feed organic growth.
The whole current zapping is not enough to compete is true but only because the current content is not enough to compete effectively either.
