It is done. This was the first turn based game I've played in 5 years and the first in probably over 10 that I didn't get bored with 20 hours in. This game made me realize how much I miss some good dungeon crawling. In some ways it's the exact opposite of modern SMT, while nuSMT is following modern RPG trends chasing open worlds and leaving dungeons behind, this game is nothing BUT dungeons. Sure, there's an overworld, but it's not terribly large nor does it need to be, because it's primarily there to provide some respite between dungeons.

And the dungeons are where the real meat is, every one has some fairly unique challenges that ramp up as you progress. You've got a nice balance of damage tiles, FOEs of varying types (some will fight you, some will kick you out of the dungeon or stick you somewhere else), teleportation puzzles and more alongside dealing with dwindling resources, especially MP and battery, the equivalent of magentite. Some people might hate this and consider it bad game design. These people are also gay retards that have ruined gaming by turning everything into braindead slop with no consequences for your actions. Poor Monster Hunter :anubis_cry:

Anyways, despite how it sounds the game is never unfair. You obtain party members by engaging in a shmup mini game, or if you SUCK, by an RNG negotiation system, obtaining even higher level members if possible if you get gud or weaken them enough. Not that levels matter TOO much because having a good party with a set of skills and resistances matters far more than just getting a higher level, and the game is balanced so you should always be at a good level for the dungeon. Skills are super easy to transfer so you can easily make a capable party with a bit of cash, and you can make cash pretty easily if you go on a hijacking spree. If anything, I found the game was a bit too easy once I got a good grasp of mechanics, which made the final 30 minutes of cock and ball torture all the more shocking.

If I had any complaints it would be that leveling party members can be an expensive pain in the ass because their level scaling is WHACK. Hecatia is one of the best party members for the final postgame boss, but getting her to level 90+ will rape your wallet. And I do wish there were some more sidequests or secrets strewn about, as well as a better New Game+ (all that transfers is your grimoires and the ability to transfer SP skills). However the dev is working on a dungeon maker, so you can make your own 100+ floor rape dungeon a reality. :ugonnagetraped:
