#WordWeavers 8 — What do you pay attention to when describing your characters’ surroundings?
I try to make my descriptions sensory. Not only what the character sees, but what they feel, or smell, what temperature it is, etc. Of course, I don't describe every sense in every scene, I just sprinkle different things here and there.
It's important to me how the character interacts with the world and how the world feels to them. This way, the reader can feel present, too.
