First time I heard about Bitcoin, the price tag was at $150 per coin. I didn't pay attention to it, just saw the number going up and thinking that this "crypto thing" can only be some sort of scam.

FOMO hit eventually but not as hard as to make me buy some. I was seeing the shitcoins coming into the space, a friend talked about "iota" as being the "future bitcoin" because it was designed for the internet of things: cheap transactions, and all the buzz around its features that would "fix" bitcoin's weaknesses.

I even got a little involved in developing their electron based wallet, hoping to jump on the next rocket to-the-moon while reading about doge coin breaking the ceiling yet again. A few years pass, I was not into 'crypto' anymore but that interest popped up again when I saw NFTs and Ethereum. I started studying proof of stake and how to run code on the blockchain. Eventually I saw the "gas price" for running apps and decided that wasn't for me.

It was only after someone calling out on the whole NFT meaninglessness I started looking at Bitcoin again.

During these years I should have been humble and stacking sats. But only now I realize I jumped in at the right time, because I'm now resilient. If I had started with Bitcoin without being prepared for it, I'd have sold it with 50~100% "profit", because that was my fiat mind: comparing investments without accounting for inflation, privacy, sovereignty, and the other things we talked about.

I'm paying more per coin now than 10 years ago, but now I understand some of my mistakes. I thank God for it, who has used people like , , , , Jordan Peterson, and many others to open my eyes.

Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
