That means, if there is only one client, then we can theoretically own our own data, but we are forced to follow their rules as to where and how we use it.
So, we all have cars and driveways to park them in our own garages, but the government owns the roads, can take away our license to drive, remove our license plate, or dictate which cars we are allowed to buy.
