Even if you user a real lightning wallet the receiver may get hit with wild fees. Most will give you like 50k sats inbound liquidity which goes quick if you're zapping or tipping them often. Then once they used up all their inbound liquidity the wallet will charge them those layer 1 fees to open a channel.
Orange pilling made extremely difficult in this environment. I used start them with 20k sats but these days opening that initial channel could be between 15-25k. So nothing gained. Then a couple tips later another channel needs to be opened and we're back to the stupid high fees. What's worse is you can't even tell them to move the coin off lightning so they could free up inbound liquidity because they'll probably just have 100k sats. Imagine playing 18-25k sats in fees to move 100k.
Outside of custodial solutions orange pilling folk right now is a hard sell.
