i think i am getting Stockholm syndrome'd by c++ too. it's an objectively terrible programming language but it also has features and you can in principle implement anything in it.
the bit where i really have cursed feelings is when i yearn for c++ while writing go, the one language i deal with regularly that *intentionally* dislikes you
but also good grief, the couple of use after free bugs i just fixed were so silly. ugh. silent reference semantics are a billion dollar per year design mistake
