All societies collapse eventually because hereditary wealth, and no unsettled lands left on the frontiers, cause class stratification, and fascism (the bad kind).

This is true for liberal/constitutional/whatever democracies (and half-arsed democracies like ours). True also for empires and monarchies.

Monarchies, too, were revolutionary at one point.
