I’m going to go with you NEED Damus more than you need zaps if you want widespread use.

Most people with an iphone will have noticed that Amazon’s iphone app won’t let you buy kindle books and that’s because of Apple’s percentage grab. You CAN however log in via even Safari or other browser on the iphone and buy said kindle book.

If there’s a quick way to indivate that people need to go to the browser for payments / zaps you have your workaround. Remove it from the app itself. Add stupid clear instructions on how to use in the browser on a phone somewhere.

I know that there are content filter settings in Bluesky’s app that can only be changed in the browser because of Apple’s policies as well.
