Ah my. What a clash of traditional family values and the professional perspective of western economics. I remember drinking mint tea with a man I met in Casablanca and meeting his extended family all living in one home. Eid was really off putting being an English speaker because everyone has sheep they are keeping the week leading up to the actual celebration, And the kids are really aggressive towards the sheep, Knowing they are about to be sacrificed and cooked for the celebration. Not knowing this makes the actual day feel really bad, But it is actually a feast and celebration. Don’t let it startle you that they want you to have children, But at the same time, Consider how it will play out. Not being able to plan a life in both America and the other country is what stopped me from having children internationally, And I still do not want to have just American children, But I would say you are much closer to arriving at that point in your life than I was with my former partner. I don’t need to tell you, Do the math, Take your time, And make wise decisions. You will be happier without making a lifelong commitment than you will be rushing ahead to appease a traditional family. But don’t give up on them either!
