Gas (in the US at least) is pretty highly subsidized. Something like an estimated $12+ dollars per gallon without subsidies (current average gas price $3.41). There are plenty of other variables to compare as well, but it’s not like only EVs are being subsidized. Whether or not any of these subsidies are funds well spent or which subsides (gas vs EV vehicles) have a better economic return is another question entirely (and a good one at that).
