1) Physically moving the archival medium off-site! If the primary storage and backup storage are both caught in the same flood/fire/etc. that's not helpful
2) Verification. You'll want to routinely verify that your (offsite) backups for integrity. Nothing worse than thinking you can recover only to find out that your backup died too.
