The two worlds of aggressive inline skating and Nostr / Bitcoin are long overdue a collision and I’m going to do my best to make these communities see just how much their values overlap.
Aggressive inline communities and brands are built on DIY ethics, skater-run, skater-owned, meritocracy, and are egalitarian yet truly competitive.
The global online community of aggressive inline resides largely on instagram, with the majority of “pro” skaters relying on income from their sponsors, value-for-value sales of digital content and competition prizes, and all would be below the poverty line if they relied on their sponsorship salary alone.
Them Skates brand are a perfect example of this, as is my sponsor Rampant Skate Shop
Myself and bitcoiners alike should recognise the opportunity here to promote Nostr, “sats for stunts” to help push pro’s and amateurs to their limits and get paid for it.
