My experience is, that if I give someone Trezor and theirs first sats on it, even if I walk them through it and explain everything, they just put it (all, both Trezor and backup) in the closet and forget about it until ... well until I want to give them more sats (next year?). Then, we go through everything again.

I doubt it is working for adoption.

I think that every person I gifted the Trezor to just haven't got any benefits of Bitcoin and I got and duty of being their bitcoin-mechanic. If the shit ever hits the fan, they will run to me with both seed and Trezor in their hands asking me to solve it. They gained no sovereignty at all. They learned nothing.
