I think it's the fundamental idea that anime is primarily made for fun, not to push some highbrow shithead "political theory". That's completely intolerable to someone who's based their entire identity on a political ideal or movement, hence why they always inevitably lash out. To them, anything that doesn't serve the party line is in opposition to it, and must be destroyed.
Or that's my schizo theory at least, I suppose cute aggression also factors in for some, amongst a whole wide range of other factors I don't know about.
