"content": "Yesterday, I had posted some about Daniel Boone as part of my buildup for reading about mountain men. Today I'll post some cool stuff I found about Lewis and Clark. \n\nLewis and Clark of course were military men. And served under General Anthony Wayne in the 1790s. Wayne was a noted stickler for regulation, and one of those was the long held tradition of officers carrying the Spontoon. A sort of half Pike. This apperently was influential to Lewis, as he went above and beyond what was needed to play dress up for impressing Indians. He actually carried it for a good chunk of the expedition. Used as both a walking stick and a weapon. Including an instance where it saved him from going over a cliff. \n\nhttps://mugicha.club/media/7a900be64feacf6c1ef0dbc2dca3195b65042f702aaa1dd56e0fa95bb9d0eb74.jpg\n\nhttps://mugicha.club/media/0f3d9c0ddb8053380f91e89d774b948115fcb4bf9825124815149049f43e7360.jpg\n\nhttps://mugicha.club/media/d960eddf970b401f0fb6e5c3b6b69570903c330d58325428a287a5a3d8cae75c.jpg\n\nhttps://mugicha.club/media/02382df18ac32ef3cf0004783741313327a2683843665c97d4a143ad9f52afe7.jpg",
